In 1964, the late Toddy Simpson, a chemical engineering graduate of Cornell University and entrepreneur, discovered a process to cold brew coffee. This process reduces the acidity in your coffee and delivers a rich, smooth taste.
STROTHER SIMPSON DEVELOPED AND ADVANCED THE COMMERCIAL PROCESS AND HELPED SPARK THE COLD BREWED COFFEE REVOLUTION
Simpson's son, Strother continued the legacy by adding the cold brew liquid business. Led by Strother as their chief food scientist, developed and produced beverages and liquid flavoring ingredients throughout all stages of the product lifecycle—concept and recipe formulation to prototype and commercialized extract and finished product application.
Strother has developed and/or produced products for brands such as Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Caribou Coffee, Gloria Jeans, Whole Foods Market, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Folgers (P&G), HonestTea, Arizona Tea, Monin, Hershey’s, Nantucket Nectar, POM Wonderful, and WhiteWave Foods.
